Relative to most other whitewater spots in South Carolina this one requires a bit more skill.

Tyger River . . . If you're coming from Newberry it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This section of Tyger River in Spartanburg/ Union County is 11.6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater.
